New Academicians of Our Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences

New names have joined different departments of Kadir Has University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences. We are pleased to introduce our academics to you:

Dr. Aslı Aydın, Economics
Dr. Aslı Aydın completed her undergraduate studies at Bilkent University Department of Business Administration in 2005, then received her MA from Ege University Department of Economics and her PhD from Hacettepe University Department of Economics. Gök, who published her doctoral thesis on the effects of robotic advancement on employment, continues her postdoctoral academic studies in the field of growth and development economics. Dr. Aydın, who started her business life at HSBC Bank A.Ş., has worked in various private sector and civil society organizations throughout her career and has taught various courses at Boğaziçi University, Kadir Has University and Fenerbahçe University.

Dr. Ayşe Altan-Atalay, Psychology
Dr. Ayşe Altan-Atalay completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Boğaziçi University in 1999. She also received her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the same university in 2001. After working as a therapist in the field for a while, she started her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Middle East Technical University. She received her doctorate in 2011 with her thesis titled “Looming vulnerability and perfectionism as mediating factors between parental bonding, social anxiety and depression”. She has taught undergraduate and graduate courses and conducted research at various universities (Boğaziçi, Yeditepe, Koç) since 2010. She conducts research on cognitive predisposition to anxiety, emotion regulation, perfectionism, attention control and other supradiagnostic risk factors.

Dr. Coşku Çelik, Political Science and Public Administration
Dr. Coşku Çelik received his doctorate in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Middle East Technical University. After completing his doctorate, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher and visiting professor at York University in Canada between 2019-2022. Her academic interests include social policy, labor studies, development studies and feminist political economy. To date, he has mainly worked on natural resource management, rural development, and social reproduction in Turkey. His current research focuses on the structural relationships between food insecurity and rural women’s labor in the Global South. Dr. Çelik has published work in academic journals such as Journal of Agrarian Change, Critical Sociology, Human Geography, and Capital and Class.

Dr. Oğuzhan Ceylan, Management Information Systems
Dr. Oğuzhan Ceylan received his BS in Electrical Engineering from ITU and his MS and PhD degrees from the same university’s Department of Computational Science and Engineering. Dr. Ceylan worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for one year and as a researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for one year. His main research interests are solutions to optimization problems and their applications to smart grids, numerical methods, and parallel computing.
