“The Marie Curies of the Mediterranean” explores the lives and achievements of Mediterranean women scientists and researchers who have received and/or contributed to the prestigious European Union Marie Curie scholarships. The exhibition consists of 29 panels, each prepared from an intimate perspective. Each panel presents the biographies of the scientists and researchers, from their childhood to their motivations, from their university education to their professional achievements. The different backgrounds also reflect the richness of the Mediterranean region. In addition, the exhibition highlights the impact of Marie Curie scholarships on the careers of scientists and researchers, while also providing insight into their hobbies and family life.

Translated into nine languages and exhibited in various European, Asian, African and American countries, “Marie Curies of the Mediterranean” represent scientists and researchers from 22 countries, 19 of which are Mediterranean. This global outreach aims to draw attention to the shared values and goals of the scientific community, inspire younger generations, highlight the cultural richness and scientific talents of the Mediterranean region and increase the visibility of women in science and research.

We invite you to discover the stories of these extraordinary women by visiting the exhibition, designed by El Caleidoscopio and Marie Curie Alumni Association, partners in the MEDNIGHT consortium, and funded by the European Union’s MSCA programme.
