Emeritus Prof. Önder Pekcan, faculty member of our Molecular Biology and Genetics department, will give a talk titled “Macro Molecules and Fractals” on Thursday, December 28 at 14:00.
In this talk, Prof. Pekcan will explain the self-similar properties and dimensions of fractals; and will talk about how the dimension measurements of geometric, statistical and mathematical fractals are made.
In the second part of the talk, types of macromolecules and their behaviors depending on temperature will be discussed. Chemical and physical behaviors of natural and synthetic gels and in the last part, fractal dimension measurements of gels and polymers will be shown.
The event, which will take place in the Fener Hall, is open to everyone.
Note: This event is organized by our Faculty of Art and Design.
