From KHAS Core Program (Common Courses Section) Dr. Lecturer Member Didem Turkoglu, was elected to the Social Movements Council (CBSM) of the American Sociological Association (ASA), the largest international sociology association with over 20 thousand members.
ASA consists of sections covering various sub-branches of sociology. The Collective Behavior and Social Movements (CBSM) department, where Dr. Didem Türkoğlu, who works in the field of political sociology and social movements, was elected as a council member, works in the field of collective behavior and social movements and brings together approximately 1000 members working in this field.
The council that manages this section consists of Dr. Türkoğlu from Kadir Has University, along with six sociologists working at the leading universities in North America: the University of California, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of British Columbia, McGill University, and the University of Toronto. During her three-year term as a member of the council, Didem Türkoğlu will represent the social movements section and its members at the ASA, bring forward suggestions to guide academic research and programs together with the elected president, develop existing programs, and take part in the implementation of decisions taken.
