Within the framework of curriculum changes,, it is particularly important that our students in upper years pay close attention to the status of courses that have been adaptation during their course registrations.
Before course registration, it is important to check your graduation simulations (SPARKS), your remaining obligations on MYKHAS, and the list of courses that have been adaptation to ensure a smooth course registration process.
You are expected to follow the curriculum based on your entry year. We kindly ask you to review the lists of compulsories, elective, and adaption compulsory courses before registration. You can access the list of adaption compulsory courses at https://www.khas.edu.tr/en/adaptation-course-list/. The adaptions have only been made for compulsory courses, and your advisors have been provided with the necessary information.
Please note that if a course has been removed from the compulsory course list and replaced by an adaptation course, you must take the new course. The code and names of the courses you need to take are listed in the mentioned adaptation course list.
The Core Elective course pools have been removed. Core Elective courses and Free Elective courses are now in the same pool. The distinction between the two pools has been eliminated, so students who wish to complete the Core Elective course pool can do so by taking Free Elective courses. You can select the elective course you wish to take from the pool displayed on your course registration screen. All necessary adaptations have been made in the system.
The Core Elective courses you have previously completed will appear unchanged in your graduation simulations (SPARKS), with no alterations.
You cannot take courses that have been adaptation as electives. Since these courses have been adaptation, if you retake the course, it will be counted as a repeated course by the system and will replace the code of the adjusted course. In this case, the grade of the newly taken course will be reflected as the final grade on your transcript. It will not appear as additional ECTS credits on your transcript.
You can view the list of elective courses you can take under the “Recommended Courses” tab in the graduation simulation. The courses listed here will be available for selection on the course registration screen if they have been offered and assigned a quota by the relevant department for the Fall Semester. For requests to increase quotas, please contact the faculty secretaries.
It is particularly important for our students who are close to graduation to complete their compulsory courses and meet the 240 ECTS requirement.
For any questions regarding curriculum changes and the course registration process, you should first consult your academic advisor. Likewise, our double major and minor program students must complete their course registrations by consulting the academic advisors assigned to their respective double major and minor programs.
