Aslı Kırbaş, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Aslı Kırbaş, who graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in 2012 and received the title of interior architect, took part in the design and implementation stages of various projects as an interior architect for 4 years after graduation. She graduated from ITU Interior Architecture Design International Master’s Program in 2019 and from ITU Architectural History Master’s Program in the same year. During her master’s education, she spent a period of education at The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) in Switzerland in 2017 and attended a workshop at the University of Cincinnati, USA. She has been continuing her doctoral education at Hacettepe University Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Program since 2020. She has been a lecturer since 2016 and teaches courses in interior architecture departments of universities. Her research interests include architectural history, architecture in transition periods, architectural historiography, modern architecture, interior design, and reuse of interior spaces.

Dr. Ayşe Draz, Theatre

Continuing her productions and research in the field of performance with a fluid identity, Ayşe Draz completed her BA in Theatre (Acting) and International Studies and Comparative Literature at Northwestern University, then spent a year at Bard College Berlin and completed her MA in ‘devising’ at Middlesex University. In 2023, she received her PhD from Istanbul University, Department of Dramaturgy and Theatre Criticism with her thesis titled “Documentation in Performance Art”. Draz, who was among the founders of Tiyatro Hemhâl in 2018, has been the performing arts editor of Art Unlimited magazine since 2015, and is a member of the Theatre Critics Association and AICA, also continues her collaborations with both local and international artists from different disciplines under her various identities.

Dr. Dilara Kelle, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Dilara Kelle completed her undergraduate education in the Department of Interior Architecture at Istanbul Technical University in 2007. After her undergraduate education, she completed her master’s degree in the Environmental Control and Building Technologies program at the same faculty in 2014. She continued her doctoral studies in Acoustics at the ITU Building Sciences program and earned her doctorate in 2023. She adopts a functional and pragmatic approach that focuses on user comfort and needs in the projects she takes part in. Along with her design studies, her areas of work include structural element design and detail solutions for providing sound insulation in architectural projects, acoustic designs of auditoriums, concert halls, cinemas and television studios, and acoustic performance evaluation. She also gave lectures on sustainability and energy efficient building design.

Dr. Gizem Aksu, Theatre

Independent choreographer, dancer and academic Gizem Aksu graduated with honors from Boğaziçi University, Department of Political Science and International Relations (2010) and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory, Department of Contemporary Dance (2014). She completed her MA (2016) and Proficiency in Arts (2021) programs in the same department and taught many courses. She participated in many festivals, biennials and residency programs in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, India, Netherlands, England, Spain, Portugal and Turkey with her own productions and received awards. The artist approaches the body as a collective and relational process; choreography as a field that investigates the relationships written and engraved on historical, social and energetic bodies. The artist, who produces on an interdisciplinary basis such as film, text and installation, positions all her artistic productions within the broad definition of choreography.

Dr. Mine Koyaz, Architecture

Mine Koyaz graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Architecture in 2013. Following her undergraduate education, she completed her master’s thesis titled “Material Selection Tool in Building Element Design” at Istanbul Technical University, Environmental Control and Building Technologies program in 2016; and her doctoral thesis titled “Human-Centered Performance Approach for Adaptive Facade Design” at Istanbul Technical University, Building Sciences program in 2022. During her doctoral studies, she was a visiting researcher for one year at TU Delft, Department of Architectural Engineering and Technologies; took part in national and international collaborations, made publications, and attended conferences. Having worked as a research assistant and then as a lecturer at various universities since 2014, Mine Koyaz continues her studies in the fields of building element design, building materials and technologies, building physics, environmentally sensitive building design, architectural design, human-centered design, and facade design.
