Coursera Learning Platform Application and Course Substitution Principles
It is aimed that students enrolled in the undergraduate programs of our university will benefit from the globally popular COURSERA platform, have a personalized learning experience, contribute to their academic development, and take advantage of the educational opportunities of the modern era. In order to ensure the effective use of the Coursera platform and enable students to benefit in maximum from this application, the following principles have been accepted by unanimous vote.
1. Starting from the Spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, priority in taking courses on the Coursera platform will be given to final-year students. However, within the quota, all undergraduate students will be able to benefit from this opportunity.
2. Students will be able to transfer the courses offered on the Coursera platform and listed below under the category of “Free Elective Courses.”
3. Each Coursera course will carry a value of 1 ECTS credit for a workload of 25 hours. Students can transfer a maximum of 6 ECTS (150 hours of workload) worth of courses. Students’ success will be evaluated based on the certificates they receive from the courses they complete.
4. Students’ success will be evaluated based on the certificates they receive for the courses completed on the Coursera platform. Courses that do not provide certificates will not be graded or credited.
5. These courses will be displayed on the student’s transcript as “KH-COURSERA Coursera Free Elective Course” with the ECTS value corresponding to the hours of the course completed on the Coursera platform. These courses will be recorded with a “Pass” grade and will not affect the student’s Grade Point Average (GPA) but will be included in the credit count.
6. The course transfer process will be carried out by the Directorate of Student Affairs, based on the opinion of the Information Center Directorate and the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board.
