From our Core Program academics Dr. Lecturer Member Mine Yıldırım The project titled “Towards Multi-Stakeholder Disaster Management: Demands, Expectations and Solution Proposals for the Human-Animal Bond and the Inclusion of Veterinarians in Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery Processes in Istanbul” has been awarded support within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 3501– Career Development Program.
Dr. Yıldırım’s project supported by TÜBİTAK aims to reveal the contributions of the inclusion of veterinarians’ activities to protect the health of domestic animals in integrated disaster management in Istanbul. The project aims to collect qualitative data on the effects of the inclusion of veterinarians’ activities to protect the health of domestic animals in integrated disaster management in the face of disasters in Istanbul on social resilience, and on the contributions to public health, welfare and well-being; and to reveal the “role of veterinarians in disasters” from an analytical perspective by analyzing this data politically and sociologically.
